Sergeant Jensen Shirley is a decorated veteran and a scholar dedicated to the study of leadership and service. Growing up in the projects of Washington, D.C., Shirley was raised by a WWII veteran father who instilled in him the values of duty and honor. After following in his family’s footsteps and joining the military, he faced a life-altering injury that tested his spirit and redefined his path. Refusing to be defeated, Shirley pursued higher education, earning a Doctorate in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego.

Today, he uses his experiences to mentor fellow veterans, helping them navigate the long road to recovery. His life is a proof of the belief that struggle can be the foundation for a meaningful new legacy.
